Pay virtually anyone or any company through Tompkins Digital Banking. You determine who you want to pay, when you want to make the payment and which account you want the payment to come from. You can make a Bill Pay or do a Person to Person Payment (P2P).  It's safe, secure and easy to use from wherever you want to be.

Person to Person Payments (P2P)

To create a P2P payment, simply click on the “Pay a Person” option from a computer, or from a mobile device, click on “Pay”, select the “+” sign in the top right corner, enter your password and select Person.

Are there limits on how much I can send to an individual?

  • For payments using the direct deposit option using your payees routing and account number, the limit is $3,000 per transaction/per day.
  • For payments without the payees account information use the email/text option, the limit is $500 per transaction or $1,000 per day.
  • Pay a Business or Individuals- Pay virtually any business or individual with a mailing address within the United States and Puerto Rico. Some examples include utilities, cable bills or credit cards, or individuals such as a landlord, babysitter or relative.
    • Safe and Secure – using online payments helps guard against identity theft from lost or stolen checkbooks, bills and statements.
    • Most payments sent electronically- most scheduled payments are sent electronically. Funds for all payment types are withdrawn from your account on the payment date.
    • Person to Person Payments (P2P) are an easy way to send money securely to someone you know and trust. All you need to know is the recipient’s mobile number and email address.
  • Below are some things to remember when creating New P2P Payee or making  P2P payment:
    • To create a new P2P Payee, simply click on the “Pay a Person” option from a computer, or from a mobile device, click on “Pay”, select the “+” sign in the top right corner, enter your password and select "New Payee" then "Person" and "By Email." Complete the required fields then create a keyword that you can tell the payee, once they are set up they will receive an email from Tompkins asking them to finalize registration and then they will need input the keyword you provided.  Once the registration is complete they will not need to enter a keyword again.  
    • To send to existing P2P payment, simply click on the “Pay a Person” option from a computer, or from a mobile device, click on “Pay”, select the “+” sign in the top right corner, enter your password and select "Person."
